Wild About Huckleberries
Forest School
When school ends, the adventure begins. Wild About Huckleberries is our after-hours Forest School – ‘a place to be me’, where nature rules, friendships grow, and imagination runs wild in the woods.
Here, we nurture curiosity, confidence, and connection through nature, play, and exploration. Every child has space to grow, discover, and belong.
Children create, explore, and connect – with nature, animals, and each other. Den-building, animal care, storytelling, nature crafts, and campfire cooking all help to develop confidence, resilience, and joy. No uniforms. No labels. Just a safe, spirited space where children can discover who they are, explore the seasons, and belong in the most natural way.
What makes us different
- Play-led exploration: Children follow their curiosity, choose activities that excite them, and immerse themselves in creative, hands-on experiences. Qualified Forest School Leaders provide gentle guidance, context, and encouragement.
- Whole-child focus: We nurture emotional wellbeing, social skills, creativity, and resilience while fostering a love of nature and the outdoors.
- Connection and community: Children learn alongside peers in a collaborative, supportive environment, building friendships and learning to care for others, animals, and the wider world.
- A rich natural setting: Woodland and meadows spark curiosity, adventure, and problem-solving, blending structured nature activities with free exploration.
Who we support
We welcome local children aged 5–11 who want a fun, nature-based space to play, learn, and grow after school. Wild About Huckleberries is open to all children, offering rich opportunities for social, emotional, and personal development.
We ask only that children bring kindness, curiosity, and presence – making safe choices, respecting one another, and helping to create a space where everyone can learn, play, and belong.
When
Sessions run weekly on Tuesdays during term-time, from 15:45 to 17:15. Bookings are accepted for a minimum of one half-term paid in advance. Concessions apply.
