Community Hub
It takes a village to raise a child
The Community Hub is where it all comes together – families, volunteers, and local partners weaving a vibrant network around our young people. It’s practical and purposeful, but also warm, human and connected – just the way real community should be.
From peer support circles for parents, mentors sharing skills and real-world experience, to volunteers rolling up their sleeves to help with sewing, pottery, archery, yoga, or growing, the Hub is about connection. It’s where young people and families discover they don’t have to go it alone – because ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, and ours is wonderfully quirky, generous, and alive with possibility.
Why get involved
- A caring community: Parents, carers, staff, and volunteers look out for one another. We know the power of simply being heard, and we’re here to support families and each other, whenever there’s a need for a listening ear.
- Peer-to-peer support: Our families are invited to half-termly gatherings, offering space to share lived experiences, receive practical support, and signposting to local services and resources.
- Mentors and role models: Local people and businesses share their skills and experience with our young people, creating real-world learning opportunities and intergenerational connections. In return, volunteers gain purpose, fulfilment, and the joy of seeing the impact they make in children’s lives.
- Hands-on volunteering: From crafts and gardening to woodwork and site projects, volunteers help shape meaningful experiences for young people, while learning and creating alongside them.
- The Discovery Directory: A living community resource where local volunteers and businesses can offer their skills or services. Young people can then tap into this network for guidance, support, and inspiration whenever they need it.
