Nurture Farm
Our Nurture Farm is no ordinary farm. It reimagines wellbeing through the healing power of nature, connection, and belonging.
Here, children can truly be themselves. In small, caring groups, they spend time outdoors, connect with our animals, and build relationships with each other. Hands-on, nature-based experiences nurture confidence, resilience, and self-awareness, helping children feel valued, connected, and supported. They develop emotional strength, rediscover joy, and find 'a place to be me'.
Who we support
We support children aged 6 to 13 who are experiencing emotional wellbeing challenges, including:
- Emotional dysregulation leading to mental distress
- School-related, social, or general anxiety including Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA),
- Difficulties with self-esteem, withdrawal, or burnout,
- The impact of trauma or care experience, or
- Family challenges, such as bereavement, separation, illness, or caring responsibilities
What we offer
- Small nurturing groups where every child is seen, heard, and supported as an individual.
- Nature-based healing, including time outdoors, therapeutic animal care, and meaningful activities that foster confidence, resilience, connection, and joy.
- Wild Projects As children begin to feel safer, many spend part of their day working on Wild Projects; passion-led projects of their own choosing, from ceramics, leatherwork, beekeeping to bushcraft, that rekindle confidence, joy, and engagement in learning.
- Skilled guidance from our team, who gently earn each child's trust while nurturing their resilience and emotional wellbeing.
- Family support through a listening ear, peer support community socials, and signposting or referrals to other services.
Charity-funded placements
We offer free support to children facing emotional wellbeing challenges, who have no other support in place, such as an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Most fall into the gap between the support ordinarily available in the classroom and the threshold for an EHCP. Children attend our Nurture Farm one day a week for at least 24 weeks, receiving nature-based wellbeing support in a small caring group, We welcome referrals from schools, social care services, GPs, charities, parents and carers. Where a child is on a school roll, we agree the placement with their school.
Commissioned placements
Schools and the Local Authority can commission a small number of placements for children with an EHCP or EOTAS package who need emotional wellbeing support, where we can meet their needs. We are an approved supplier on Surrey County Council's Alternative Provision framework.
In every case, we work closely with schools and families to help each child feel ready for whatever comes next, whether that is a return to mainstream school, a specialist setting or another route that is right for them.
